Spatial Relativity
{The Poetics of Mediated Space}

Spatial Relativity is an interactive installation exploring how our bodies and minds can develop a dialogue with the surrounding environment. Spatial Relativity experiments with the user’s real-time EEG data as a generator of new virtual architectures by translating the EEG information into a spatialization of virtual surfaces, sounds, colors and textures. Allowing the user to move through the space and explore the real time composition which is unique to his/her own current mental state.

Narrating the visual with the aural, a spatial soundScape is generated from the data and accompanies the journey. Triggering new events and energies into the space that are influencing the temporal experience. Spatial Relativity al- lows for a new hybrid experience, perceiving both visually and aurally, physically and virtually, a myriad of possible action combinations both internally and externally are able to experienced.
